What To Expect
Sunday Morning
Profile:
Age-wise, we are young and old. Sunday morning attendance is between 40 and 50 people. Dress varies from person to person. You can find anything from shirt and tie to shorts and t-shirts, sneakers and cowboy boots to flip flops and pumps. We’re not too concerned about what people wear. Our people are friendly. Don’t be afraid–be bold and introduce yourself.
Beginning:
On Sunday morning at 9:15am we come together for an hour for Adult Sunday School as well as Children’s Sunday School, in which we learn about God’s Word and its application to all areas of life. Following that, we begin our Sunday morning service around 10:30am.
Music:
The music we sing at RLCC is a blend of old and new. We love the doctrinally rich songs of all styles, although most of our music would be considered modern. Most of us have discovered the content of the lyrics is far more important than the instruments used to accompany the songs.
We have two groups that lead us in singing. Every other week we are led in singing by PS 150. PS 150 offers a high-energy, modern take on some classic Christian songs while playing the best of new Christian songs as well. On the weeks when PS 150 is not leading our singing, we have a worship team leading us in many of the same great songs, but it is in a more mellow setting.
It is our goal to have the congregation be actively and whole-heartedly participating in the singing. We want to actively sing praises to God, not passively watch as others offer praise for us.
Body of Service:
Our service then formally begins at 10:30am. During this time, we sing several songs, offer prayers to God, hear Scripture read, and give our offerings and tithes.
Messages:
Preaching at RLCC is expositional, meaning that it seeks to declare the point of a particular Biblical passage. Sermons usually last between 45 minutes and an hour and are packed with material for reflection and personal application. On a regular basis, our sermon series tackles a book of the Bible and we try to alternate between the Old and New Testaments. At RLCC, all preaching is gospel-driven.
After the Message:
We sing a song which is designed to encourage people throughout the week. A typical service is finished by 12:15pm.
